Osstell SmartPeg Portfolio
Two options. One proven ISQ method.
SmartPegs are the core measuring components behind the original Osstell ISQ concept – enabling truly objective assessment of implant stability. Backed by more than 25 years of scientific validation and over 1,500 studies, they are engineered exclusively for Osstell instruments and trusted by clinicians worldwide for accurate, repeatable implant stability measurements and reliable guidance in treatment planning.
Now available in single-use and reusable versions
Offering full workflow flexibility without compromising accuracy, the SmartPeg portfolio provides two validated options to suit different clinical preferences. Both versions are made from aluminium and deliver identical, validated ISQ values – with no conversion tables required.

How does it work?
A SmartPeg is attached to the implant or abutment and measured with your Osstell device. The instrument sends a gentle magnetic pulse that makes the SmartPeg vibrate. By recording this vibration, the device assesses the micro‑mobility of the implant.
The recorded micro‑mobility is converted into a measure of implant stability. This is presented as an ISQ value (1–99) – the Implant Stability Quotient – giving you the clear information about the implant stability you need for planning the treatment.
Because resonance frequency analysis is objective and repeatable, you can track osseointegration over time and make well‑informed decisions throughout the healing period.
Secure & reliable design
SmartPegs are precision engineered for accurate, repeatable ISQ measurements. Their soft aluminium body attaches securely without damaging the implant’s internal threads, and proper tightening (finger-tight, 4–6 Ncm) keeps variation within ±2 ISQ units.
Both versions deliver the true ISQ value – no conversion needed.
